Eventually, the sebum will empty onto the skin surface. Although we do not know the main accurate cause of acne in newborn, there are some experts who believed that mother could be the cause.
It may because the mother have been taking acne-causing medication such as lithium and phenytoin before birth and this transfer through the placenta of hormones from the mother to the newborn.
Although it is more common in adolescents, there are few cases of infants having outbreaks of acne.
The good thing is after the age of 30, acne problems will be gradually reduced. The amount of sebum and hormone levels will increase during adolescence. Hormone levels will then increase the number of oil glands produce.
